David McCann, web news editor for CFO magazine, posted a blog entry on February 24 that bears a headline that summarizes broad-based concerns about the proposed Express Scripts and Medco merger:  "Big PBM Deal: a Matter of Antitrust. Not to Mention Just Plain Trust." 

"Amid all the opposition and fear, will the FTC [Federal Trade Commission] have the guts to approve it?" McCann wrote.  "It's not up for a public vote, but I say no.  If allowing one consolidated player to dominate a huge, already very highly concentrated industry is OK, then what are antitrust laws for?"
